Clearing the Cover Garment for the AIWB Draw

One of several notable benefits related to carrying in the appendix position on the waistline is the speed.  All else being equal, it is simply faster to deploy a gun from in front of your hips compared to at the side or behind your hips.  To truly gain this speed advantage, however, you must use your support hand to clear the cover garment that is draped over the holstered gun.  With that said, it is very important to also be able to clear the garment and draw the gun single-handed, but if you have the option, using the support hand clear the garment fosters the fasted possible draw from this position.  Clearing the garment correctly is easier said than done.  Watch the video for an in-depth analysis of this technique:
