The truth is, I often carry a small revolver, and I have always been a proponent of carrying a gun that you will actually carry, all the time, even if it is a diminutive gun, because it is still most likely to do what is necessary in civilian self-defense.
Our world is changing. While the small, deep concealment gun, is still a necessity for almost all concealed carriers, I think there is more reason than ever before to be carrying a serious fighting pistol at all times possible.
The two growing threats that prompt this consideration are increasing mob violence, in which multiple, perhaps many, hostiles attack people, and the ever-possible active killer scenario, in which a single, or perhaps multiple, killers armed with long guns attack innocent people. Such scenarios demand more gun.
If you need to enter social environments where you can only carry your deep concealment gun, then, by all means, that is a lot more gun than being unarmed. However, when out and about in casual dress, why not make the extra commitment to carry a more capable handgun?
I still often carry my snub, and it remains an integral part of remaining armed at all times possible. However, when out with the family in public, I carry an auto loader and a spare magazine, because I want a gun I can fight with, in case I find myself at ground zero of the next event that is imposed on us by sociopathic, evil, killers. I think you should do the same.

Above, typically. The Enigma works well for carrying below the wasteband, I have worked with that method, but don’t really need it in my own lifestyle.
