Vehicle Attacks in the Realm of Terror

The use of vehicles to inflict mass casualty events is not new.  However, we are seeing it more often.  As of this writing, there was a vehicle terror attack in Germany, in London, and what looks to be one in St. Louis, all within a week.  This is a present and increasing concern.

There are credible people predicting a large terror attack on the United States homeland in 2025.  Vehicle attacks may well be used as part of a coordinated mass terror strike.  Regardless, these types of attacks prove a favorite among lone wolf terrorists.  Europe has endured significantly more of these events than has the United States.  Europe, of course, has a much higher rate of un-vetted migrants from the Middle East and Africa than does the United States.  With such massive influx comes a certain percentage of bad actors, not unlike our own situation.  However, whereas our illegal invaders tend to bring drug trafficking, human trafficking, and further gang violence, those in Europe sometimes bring terrorism. 

While idiots always campaign for more gun control following every mass shooting, no such outcry is made regarding a crackdown on who can utilize vehicles.  As with guns, it would hardly matter, as only law-abiding citizens would be affected by any kind of legislation.  Vehicles are everywhere, and any bad actor who wishes to murder innocents in mass can obtain a vehicle for the purpose.  We will continue to see more of this.  The vehicle attack in Nice, France, in 2016 took 86 lives.  This remains, per my knowledge, the worst to date, but there is no shortage of monsters who will seek to best it. 

The best defense against this syndrome is personal awareness and safety measures when in public.  Don’t loiter on curbs or sidewalks.  When in congested places with large crowds, the obvious target, determine if the environment is accessible to vehicles.  Stay away from the likely entrance points for vehicles.  Take note of large, hard barriers that can actually stop a vehicle, should there be such an attack.  Keep track of children or other family members when in crowds, for a variety of reasons, not least of which is this escalating threat.

We live in dangerous times, and this is just another tool utilized by those consumed with hatred and indoctrinated into a hatred for Western Culture.
