Book Review: The Gathering Storm by Scott Mann and Other Contributors

I read the newly released book, The Gathering Storm, written by Scott Mann and other, unnamed, contributors.  This will be a brief review, but it will tell you what you need to know about this release.  Bottom line up front: if you consider yourself a practitioner of preparedness, self-reliance, and personal protection, you should order and read this book.

The Gathering Storm is a collaborative work released by Pineapple Press, a creation of ex-Green Barret Scott Mann, and it is written by Mann and other, unspecified, authors.  Scott Mann, along with ex-intelligence analyst Sarah Adams, Dave Benton of Benghazi fame, and several others, have become high-profile in sounding the alarm on an impending terror attack on the homeland.  This group of individuals credibly claims to be monitoring the developments in terrorist activity abroad through their own long-developed network of assets in these places.  This assessment has been brought to limited, but some, light greatly in part to well-known podcasters like Shawn Ryan, who have given voice to the afore mentioned people.

If you have listened to the many interviews with Scott Mann, Sarah Adams, and others, now available on YouTube and elsewhere, then you have heard much of what is encapsulated in this book.  I have been tracking this group’s information and message for a while, listening to probably every interview they have done, and I still found this book very worth reading, as it offers some detail not heard elsewhere.

The book provides a good overview of the foundational problem that these authors point out; Afghanistan is now under complete Taliban control and multiple terrorist organizations are taking refuge and training there.  Further, the Taliban is entirely complicit and supportive of their efforts.  These multiple terror factions, the authors argue, have abandoned the ideological rifts that used to exist between them and have joined forces.  Finally, over the past several years, many well-trained terrorist operatives associated with Al Quada, ISIS, and other such groups, have infiltrated the Continental United States, on the order of thousands.  The authors predict a coordinated attack that will be committed in multiple locations, simultaneously.

The book also analyzes lessons learned from the Mumbai attack, the Beslan, Russia attack, October 7th in Isreal, and several other events.  This analysis shows how the threat has grown in capability and sophistication.  The authors also discuss the advancements in weaponry and communications capabilities that these terror groups now have at their disposal.

Finally, the book urges the reader to prepare for this dismal reality at the individual, family, and community level.  Any such coordinated and large attack will immediately overwhelm the response capabilities of the towns and cities in which they occur.  Discussions should be had at the community level, with elected leaders and law enforcement involved in a plan.

Overall, this is a short and easy read, but one you should partake of, immediately.  If you have been following the information being put out by these people, you will still gain a lot from this book.  If this frightening prospect is entirely new to you, read this book now.  Even if you are not much of a reader, this one is worth your time.

The book is available on Amazon Kindle:
