Revisiting the Minimum Defensive Firearms Collection

If you have not equipped yourself with the needed defensive firearms at this point, you are beyond late to the party.  However, better late than never.  Now would be the time, during a brief calm before the storm.  The Covid experiment resulted in 10 million brand new gun owners in the United States.  The globalist powers that unleashed that crime against us ended up arming a lot more Americans.  Good.

Right now, ammunition is reasonably priced, as are guns.  If you have not taken the plunge into arming yourself, its time to stop being negligent towards the safety of your family.  Do you have smoke detectors in the home?  I am sure you do.  Did you realize that far more people are injured and killed in the home from violence every year than from fire?  That’s the facts, Jack.

For a long time I have recommended a three-gun setup as a minimum defensive solution.  My suggestion remains:

First Priority: A primary home defense/carry pistol

Second Priority: A duplicate of the primary pistol (yes, you should have two)

Third Priority: A defensive long gun, rifle or shotgun

This battery of three firearms will do most of anything needed.  The handgun remains the primary for the citizen, even if SHTF, it will likely be more important than a long gun.  Therefore, I suggest having two of the same gun for this primary role.  Select a duty size or compact version of a true fighting pistol.  My recommendation remains the Glock or the Smith and Wesson M&P, chambered in 9mm.

You should also have a long gun for home defense, as defending the home from multiple invaders is much more doable with a rifle or shotgun.

If in a restricted state, an auto loading shotgun may be the best option.  If in a truly restricted location, a lever action rifle, chambered in 357 or 44 magnum, is surprisingly capable, as is a pump action shotgun.  If in a free state, I have a hard time suggesting anything besides the ubiquitous AR15, the most versatile defensive long gun.

After arming yourself, I implore you to seek out and attend a real defensive pistol class.  Shooting pop cans in the back yard with Uncle Eli does not constitute training.

Remaining unarmed in the face of our deteriorating world is unfathomable for people such as myself.  If you have not done so already, it is time to take ownership of your responsibility as a protector of your loved ones.
