Unless you live in make-believe world (which half our nation seems to do) you should realize that our state of affairs is deteriorating. The current political regime is, intentionally, destroying the nation by fostering unmitigated illegal invasion of the country. Not only can our economic system not absorb this influx, but the number of bad actors infiltrating this wave of humanity is legion. The terror threat is at an all-time-high, and any terrorist organization in the world has had ample opportunity to simply send their minions right over our boarder during this administration. Beyond the looming issue of terrorism, we are now rife with gang related denominations not seen before.
Central American gangs such as MS13 have been in the country for decades now, as this is not the first administration that has sought the destruction of the American way of life through illegal immigration, though it is the worst so far in this regard. Now that many millions of unvetted people have entered in only the past few years, there are other Latin American gangs setting up shop that are even worse than MS13 and other such scum that we already have too much of. Trust me when I declare, we already had enough of our own criminal element to deal with, we did not need to influx of so many bad actors from abroad as well.
For those who still think the Earth is flat, the economy is doing well, and crime is down, I will remind you that most large, urban, cesspools are running on skeleton crews of law enforcement, and most such areas are not even responding to calls up to and including home invasion and assault. When you don’t respond to the majority of crimes, then the majority of crimes go unreported. Hmm, pretty simple, unless you are a reality denier.
As part of the new normal we should consider the very different threat profile. Unmitigated invasion of the country has given us a plethora of new gangs. It has also given us the impending, likely inevitable, countdown to another wide-scale terror attack. And, let’s not forget that the domestic lunatic, lone wolf, has not disappeared to make room for all the new scum bags. Hardly. We still have all of them to deal with as well.
The media buries it, but there has been an inordinate amount of violence against churches in the past year. All houses of worship are targets, but especially Christian churches of late. This is, undoubtably, because the Christian church is considered the oppressor by the woke nut jobs. Think this is some sort of unfounded MAGA rant? Think again. In the past year we have seen a trend not beheld before: numerous mass shooting attempts committed by women. With the exception of the terrorist couple that shot up San Bernadino years back, I have a hard time remembering many other instances before recent years that involved female perpetrators. Many of these attacks have been against churches.
There was the lunatic woman who attempted to shoot up the Joel Olsteen church, and that was only publicized because of the high profile of it. There have been others since. For example, in Melville, Louisiana, a woman drove up to a church and opened fire on people working on the church grounds. There are several other events, involving women attacking churches, just in the past several weeks. Seems to me like a startling escalation following the overturning of a particular unconstitutional Supreme Court ruling that, shall we say, tends to infuriate a lot of women. The church is, of course, seen as the impetus behind said rectification of a decades-old bad court decision. Lots of psycho chicks out there are mad about it. If you go to church, know the safety plan, know what security is in place, and certainly go armed. If you go to a church that forbids you to carry, find a church that actually values human life.
All of this is to say, the threat has changed. The world is different than when we were children. This is not to say that crime, in general, is more (though the fact that so much goes unreported seems to indicate it is exceptionally high, despite the media running cover for this administration) but the threat is very different. Getting robbed in a parking lot by the local, lone, crackhead is not the overarching concern. We now see active killers with rifles and body armor, gang violence on a new level, and multiple, often many, assailants in mob activity.
I have always loved small revolvers, and still use one often, as a favored “walk the dog in the neighborhood” gun. It also makes a great house gun, and a great backup gun. However, with the nature of our new reality, I wear a full-framed auto loader when in public with the family. I usually carry a reload as well. We are in the golden age of small autos that are now reliable and have significant ammo capacity. If you can’t make a full-size or compact service pistol work, you can certainly make a Sig 365 or M&P Shield Plus, or the like, work.
The threat has changed, and so should our preparedness. Carry a gun you can fight with.
