The shooting that took place in Cambridge, Massachusetts, last week is the latest example of the curse that is far leftist, woke, ideology. The perpetrator himself is not necessarily reflective of any particular ideology, as he seems to be legitimately insane, but the system that turned him lose on the streets did so in order to propagate a deranged world view in which criminals and predators are considered the victims of a racist, oppressive, society.
Turns out, our boy was put in prison five years ago for HAVING A SHOOTOUT WITH POLICE. Did you miss that the first time? I will repeat it: the perpetrator was let out of prison in only five years after HAVING A SHOOTOUT WITH POLICE. You see, according to the woke, mentally defective ideolog that was the judge in that previous case, certainly this poor, downtrodden, victim of racism and capitalist greed, deserved a new start. Now, had you, or your spouse or child, caught a bullet curtesy of this scumbag and the far more reprehensible judge that let him out, well then you would have simply been written off as a statistic of “gun crime” that the leftist media loves to talk about.
Of course, any rational person would ask, how did this guy, a convicted violent felon, obtain a gun, which is also certainly an “assault weapon” that is certainly illegal in Massachusetts? Who’d a thunk it? Turns out that criminals don’t follow “common sense gun safety” laws. Further, this thug was stopped by a concealed carrier. He survived, but was stopped by the good guy with a gun that the anti-2A savages claim don’t exist. The same people that let criminals who shoot at police officers out of jail after only five years must be outraged that a common plebian was allowed to be armed and hurt one of their beloved thugs.
Woke justice reform ideology is a plague on our nation that you must take a stand against. Violent perpetrators belong in prison, as do woke judges who release them on society. The vast majority of violent crime is committed by recidivist offenders, and the justice system in blue cities has absolutely no intention of protecting you and yours from it. That is on you.
I believe we will continue to see an increase in such attacks. Mental illness is at an all-time high in CONUS and we are riddled with activist prosecutors and judges that don’t press charges, or give the most lenient possible sentences even to hyper-violent offenders. These extremely volatile and violent individuals are roaming the streets. Assuredly, they will be found in the most anti-gun blue districts where they can wreak the most havoc without interdiction.
Consider these kinds of threats: can you make the shot? Such an adversary is likely to be well outside of the typical defensive distances most people train for. While I don’t focus much on highly accurate bullseye shooting with a handgun I have long encouraged the ability to put five-for-five rounds into an eight-inch circle (think Down-0 of an IDPA target) at twenty-five yards, and five-for-five rounds onto a C-Zone size target at fifty yards. If you can do that, you can probably deal with most circumstances. If you can’t, put some time into developing that skill. The fact remains that such attacks, even seemingly absurd and random incidents as this, will be committed where there are plenty of people to victimize. Accuracy is paramount.
When it comes to legalities, active killer events are usually much more clear cut than are other defensive circumstances. Any person firing a gun into a crowd, or at cars driving by as this guy was doing, clearly constitutes a deadly threat and an immediate use of lethal force to protect innocent life is justified.
We will see more, so file this kind of violence away in your mind as another possibility.
And, fun fact, this is yet another example of a good guy with a handgun blowing a bad guy with a rifle out of his socks, so there is that.
